Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-04-26
This policy explains what permitbystate.com (the “Site”) collects, why, and what choices you have. We try to keep the data we handle small and the explanation short.
What we collect
- Email address — only when you opt in to our newsletter or lead-magnet downloads. Submitting an email is voluntary.
- Server logs — standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamp) retained briefly for security and debugging.
- Analytics — aggregate page-view counts via Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics. We do not build user profiles or attempt to identify individual visitors.
How we use it
Email addresses are used to send the newsletter and any lead-magnet content you requested. We do not sell, rent, or trade email addresses. Server logs and analytics are used to keep the Site reliable and to understand which guides are useful.
Third-party services
- Beehiiv— newsletter delivery. Subject to Beehiiv’s own privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and analytics.
- Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement.
We do not run banner ad networks, retargeting pixels, or third-party social trackers on the Site.
Affiliate links
Some outbound product links are affiliate links. Clicking them may set a cookie on the destination site (not on permitbystate.com) so the partner can credit the referral. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
- Request that we delete the email address and any associated record we hold by emailing hello@permitbystate.com.
- Ask what we have on file for you (same address).
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will also be noted in the newsletter.
